The Sierra Club

The Sierra Club's members are 750,000 of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.

Our home is rich in natural resources, the ocean, rivers, forest and scrub and the wildlife that are all increasingly threatened by development.  The Sierra Club's Purpose is, "To explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth".

The Volusia Flagler Group

Volusia Flagler Sierra's membership has grown to over 1300 members sinceMarsha Lewis at last May's Native Plant Society convention in Daytona Beach Shores receiving our charter in 1975. There are many park resources in the area available for outings: Bulow Creek Preserve, the Ocala National Forest, Tomoka GeoPark, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge,Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, Spruce Creek Preserve, Hontoon Island, Lake George and Lake Ashby, are just a few of them.

Our newsletter, The Timucuan (named for our native tribe) is available on-line or in hard copy, and covers monthly meetings, speakers & topics, conservation and development issues, lists outings and marine debris pick-up dates, etc.

General meetings are held every first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM.  Contact any of the committee members by e-mail for meeting location and program topic.
