December 10, 2008
Tampa City Councilwoman Linda
Saul-Sena was presented the 2008 Black Bear Award at the Tampa Bay
group's annual holiday gala on Dec. 10. The award was accepted by Saul-Sena
to the applause of a packed room of supporters and friends. The Black
Bear Award is the group's highest honor, presented to a person with
long-standing commitment to the goals of the Sierra Club.
Also honored with certificates of appreciation were three Tampa Bay
Sierra Club members - Hadrian
Alegarbes who is active in the Inner City Outings program, membership
chair Gayle
Bertelstein and Mariette
Coulter, a local resident who has devoted many years to preserving
a small wildlife sanctuary in south Tampa.
Our very special thanks to pretty lady-in-red, Marcia
Biggs, for organizing this highly successful event!
