At the time he completed The Triple Crown of Hiking in 2007, less than 100 people had done so. All three hikes combined for almost 8,000 miles from border to border through 22 states. Richard has also hiked the Camino de Santiago in Spain and climbed the 19,340-foot Kilimanjaro Mountain in Africa.
