 Go Green April 19th at Earth Day Tampa Bay!4/19/2009Tampa’s biggest Earth Day celebration, Earth Day Tampa Bay, promises to be bigger and better than ever when it takes over Lowry Park’s Band Shell area on Sunday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Earth Day Tampa Bay schedule 11 am: Bleu Gravy (Acoustic) Noon: Parson Brown (Folk Rock) 1:30: The Nine Volts (Americana, Roots Rock) 3pm: Safira Tribal Fusion (World Music)
This family-friendly festival will feature exhibitors offering products, information and demonstrations on ways to help you create a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Check out a wide variety of natural and organic products and services for the home, garden, mind, body and soul. Learn about energy and water conservation, local parks, recreation and wildlife. Also on hand will be community organizations and clubs, including city and county departments, with information on everything from native plant gardening to biking and hiking trails and mass transit. The children’s activity area will be larger than ever, with arts and crafts projects and educational games aimed at learning the a-b-c’s of recycling and nature. Combine all this with a variety of live music, food vendors and fun! A great lineup of entertainment is on tap, including local favorites Bleu Gravy and Parson Brown. Safira Tribal Fusion returns to Earth Day Tampa Bay. The colorful group plays a variety of instruments from around the world including djembe, conga, ocean drums, doumbek, log drums, talking drums, balaphone, bodhran, and flute, accompanied by a mesmerizing belly dancer. Headlining this year’s festival will be The Nine Volts (www.theninevolts.com). The Cape Canaveral band performs rollicking feel-good Americana- roots rock music at venues across the state and was selected from nearly 40 applicant bands.
