Our group is active in keeping Pinellas green spaces green, keeping our water and air clean, moving our area to clean energy, advocating for environmentally supportive elected officials, public education and advocacy, and creating a better climate for all. Come join us!
FIX THE DEAL. Our executive Committee has sent a letter to the St. Petersburg City Council focusing on three specific issues neglected in the current Historic Gas Plant District Tampa Bay Rays deal: climate resiliency, clean energy, and the natural environment (both in terms of stormwater management and creating more open space amenities). These topics are critical to meeting the City’s existing sustainability goals and for making St. Petersburg "a diverse, vibrant city guided by principled progress and intentional inclusivity, where innovation, partnerships and ingenuity create opportunity for all."
The City of St. Petersburg Committee of the Whole will have a workshop focusing on the Historic Gas Plant Redevelopment on Thursday May 9. You can see agenda and information here. On Thursday May 23, a Committee of the Whole workshop will focus on the stadium. These workshops are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and we need you to attend.
Get the details in our op-ed in the Tampa Bay Times, “We St. Pete environmentalists have these questions about the Rays stadium-Gas Plant deal.” We urge the St. Petersburg City Council to prioritize climate resilience, clean energy, and the natural environment before they approve a Tampa Bay Rays-Hines deal.
RSVP: May 21 This month, we will be joined by Kathy Hefele, Master Gardener Volunteer, who will be sharing a presentation on Beneficial Insects in our area! She will present what we know about the life cycles of both beneficial and "pest" categories of insects. The important take-away is how we must respect balance with regard to everything on the planet. Our knowledge is constantly growing over time, and we must be receptive to learning new information and having a greater understanding of life in Pinellas County (and the world)
Yes, I'll volunteer!

If you have not heard: read/watch the story of how the tragic loss of an Owl family in Safety Harbor moved the local community to action, significantly impacting our local area to make changes that protects all raptors in our area.

We are proud to support the efforts of Sea Us Rise & Sing To Change. A song that calls for us all to take action to secure our planet for the future. Our version is so special thanks to the voices of the younger generation. Watch it on You Tube!
