Ponte Vedra Monthly Program - Guana Sea Level Rise Study

Dr. Dawn Jourdan will make a presentation about the effects of sea level rise and climate changeon the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM NERR). Dawn isa co-principal investigator on the GTM-UF Sea Level Rise Project at the University of Florida.The Matanzas Basin is one of Florida’s most valuable and threatened coastal areas, and is hometo a wide range of species, making it an important area for our attention. This project respondsto the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s goal of Climate Adaptation andMitigation. NOAA’s mission is to understand and predict changes in climate and coasts, and toshare this information with the public. This project’s goal is to create better informed and moreresilient coastal communities.

The Ponte Vedra Beach program will be held in the main meeting room of the Ponte Vedra Public Library on Library Road at A1A (blinking light south of the intersection of A1A and Solana Road, on A1A about two miles south of Butler  Boulevard).
