Hiking "Way Down Upon the Suwannee River"

Oct 29, 2011
Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

From the White Springs Nature and Heritage Tourism Center, we will caravan to Bell Springs for the start of the hike. It's about a 2 mile walk on the Florida Trail to Robinson Falls and Big Shoals rapids and back.
Afterward, whoever wants will tour the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center in Stephen Foster State Park. ($5.00 entrance per car). The museum features exhibits about Foster's most famous songs. His music can be heard emanating from the park's 97-bell carillon throughout the day.
In Craft Square, visitors can often watch demonstrations of quilting, blacksmithing, stained glass making, and other crafts, or visit the gift shop. Afterward, we can go to the Telford Inn for a $9.00 buffet lunch. Theodore Roosevelt's name is in the registry there.
