General Program, Ponte Vedra: Slow Food

Apr 5, 2010
Monday 6:30

Hear Richard Villadoniga, Director of Slow Food First Coast, a non-profit organization that promotes local food production, and the preservation of our community’s culinary and cultural heritage.  It also promotes public education and discourse on a system of food production and consumption, which supports equity, sustainability, and quality.

Slow Food is an idea, a way of living, and a way of eating.  It is a global, grassroots movement, with thousands of members around the world.  It links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.  The organization has declared 2010 the Year of the Young Eater, to educate children and parents on the benefits of eating foods grown in a sustainable manner.

Everyone is welcome!  Snacks will be provided, but bring your own drink.
