General Program, Ponte Vedra: Save the Manatee

Feb 1, 2010
Monday 6:30

Long-time Save the Manatee Club volunteers, Deb and Doug Brown from Lake City, Florida, will show slides, discuss the conservation efforts, and tell about the habitat, behavior and diet of the manatee.  The Browns have been volunteers since 1988, and have given countless presentations and staffed numerous festival booths for over twenty years.  Last year, the Club presented them with “Manatee Hero” awards in honor of their outstanding support and dedication.

Save the Manatee Club is a nonprofit conservation organization, established in 1981 by singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, and former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham.  The Club’s mission is to protect manatees and their aquatic habitat for future generations.
