This event celebrates the visit to this area in October 1867 by Mr. John Muir, Americas most famous naturalist and the person who inspired the creation of our National Parks.
The John Muir Family Walk is a gentle 3-4 mile walk, open to adults, children, and leashed pets.
We will meet in Yulee at the John Muir Ecological Park at 10:00 AM, view the historical plaque describing Muir's 1867 visit, and then drive in our own cars to walk and picnic at the Egans Creek Greenway on Amelia Island.
We will adjourn by 2pm. Bring a bag lunch, beverage, hat and sunscreen.

The John Muir Ecological Park is located at 463039 SR 200 (also known as Highway A1A) in Yulee, FL 32097. It is just to the west of the Yulee post office, about one quarter mile west of Highway 17, and about 2.5 miles east of Interstate 95.
