Hiking on Fort George Island

Feb 21, 2009
10:00 a.m. Saturday

Before we set out on the three-mile Saturiwa Trail, a State Park Ranger will give a brief talk about the Ribault Club and the geography and history of Fort George  Island.  Finally, we will make a short visit to nearby Kingsley Plantation.
Lunch at the Sanddollar on Heckscher Drive, overlooking the beautiful St. Johns River, is possible afterwards.

For anyone still wanting more to explore, there will be a "Critters" program at Pavillion One at Little Talbot Island. This would be on your own time

RSVP REQUIRED at www.meetup.com/Sierra-Club-Northeast-Florida-Group
OR with Shelly Fine

To get to the Ribault Club from 9A or 95:  drive east on Heckscher Drive to the entrance to Kingsley Plantation (which is on the left of Heckscher Drive about ¼ mile past the St. Johns Ferry)

After you turn into the Kingsley Plantation entrance, take the loop road to the right and you will get to the Ribault Clubhouse in about 10 minutes.
