Outing Sneak preview of the Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens
When:
Sep 19, 2008
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Details:
This is a wonderful opportunity to get a SNEAK PREVIEW of the new Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens scheduled to open in late 2008. The walk is mostly shaded so the heat shouldn't be too much of a problem. The mission statement of the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens is to educate Northeast Florida and its regional communities about native and cultivated plants, improve its beauty and atmosphere, engage in and promote the conservation and preservation of our natural resources, and provide public service.
Lad Hawkins, landscape architect and city planner, will be our guide and will show and teach us all about this wonderful natural asset in Jacksonville. The walk will take about 2 hours. Reservations are not necessary but if you want further information or directions call Shelly Fine at 825-8035 or email at Humanness1@aol.com
