Hiking the Guana Preserve

When:

Jul 12, 2008
9 a.m. - lunchtime

Details:

Become familiar with this wonderful, tree-shaded area and its various trails, nature, and history. We'll hike about 4 miles on various shaded trails and have a snack along the Tolomato River.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the trail head for the Guana trails - about 200 yards beyond the dam. The entrance to Guana (Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Reserve) and the dam is on the west side of AIA approximately 17 miles south of Butler Boulevard. The entrance is just north of the Gate service station on AIA.  There is a $3 entrance fee to Guana. Please bring water, snack, sun tan lotion, and bug repellent. No reservations needed.
