Outing
Educational hike through Camp Milton

When:

May 17, 2008
9:30 a.m. - lunchtime

Details:

Learn about the historic civil war camp right outside Jacksonville, while walking through sand pine and over wetlands. This is a great opportunity to get out for those in strollers and wheelchairs, as all trails are either paved or boardwalked.  We'll see remnants of civil war defense works, an old cracker farm house, and a variety of tree species.  In addition, we'll take a short walk along the Jacksonville-Baldwin Trail - a wonderful cycling and hiking resource in Jacksonville (If you want, bring your bike to go on the trail after our outing).  The total hike is about 3 miles of flat terrain.  We'll meet at the Camp Milton parking lot at 9:30 a.m.  No reservations are required.  Bring insect repellant and sun screen.
