Hiking Betz Tiger Point Preserve

When:

Mar 8, 2008
10 a.m. - lunchtime

Details:

Get acquainted with this Preserve's splendid natural landscapes. Surrounded by broad expanses of saltwater marsh, Betz Tiger Point is awe-inspiring with stunning scenic views as well as abundant wildlife right in our own backyard!  We will meet at the Preserve's entrance at 10:00 a.m. and hike into pine flatwoods and oaks and overlook beautiful salt marshes.  The total hike is about 5 miles of flat terrain.  Bring plenty of water, bug spray, and a snack or lunch.

Take the Heckscher Drive East exit from 9A, and then take the first left (at the light) on New Berlin Rd. Go north on New Berlin Rd until it ends at Cedar Point Rd.  Turn right and go 4.75 miles to Pumpkin Hill Rd.  Turn left on Pumpkin Hill Rd and drive about 1.5 miles to the end of the road and the preserve entrance.
