About Inner City Outings
The Miami Group has a rich program of outings and the year long
schedule is posted each April. Activities include: camping, hiking,
snorkeling, backpacking, canoeing and kayaking.
We
also offer canoe and backpack workshops, Saturday bike trips, and conservation
service projects. We travel to rivers and parks in North and Central Florida
and to State and local parks in Dade and Monroe counties. Trips are rated
leisure to strenuous and everyone pitches in with the work. Our camping
and canoeing trips have central commissary and prices include food and transportation.
Upcoming Miami Group Outings
The
Miami Group has a long tradition of support for Environmental Education
in Dade County Schools. We encourage students and enlighten teachers (grades
1 - 12) on environmental issues. We publish a newsletter called the Miami
Eco-News which provides teachers with sources for environmental materials
and informs students of events and issues. Each year we recognize the county's
youngest environmentalists and their leaders with the presentation of
our Miami Group Green Awards.
